How long is this course?
These Creative, Intense Fashion and Beauty Make-up Courses range from 5, to 12 full days training
(The 12 day Course includes a one day Photo Shoot to start a Portfolio and gain Studio shoot experience) .
The MMC Courses aim to set Student Artists up, as a competent, knowledgeable Artist.
Where is the course being held?
In a training location, with on site parking and facilities, between Henley-on-Thames and Marlow.
How many students will be on the course?
With a maximum of 8 students per course, to keep that feeling of one to one training, Lorraine has designed Intense Short Courses for Make-up Artists, looking for the best training and skill set in this colourful, thriving and competitive Industry.
Every session will be hands on training, with demonstrations and Trend Projects.
Do I need any prior experience?
No prior professional experience is required. A good work ethic, an artistic eye, the desire to succeed, dedication and a love of Make-up, is key.
Do I need to produce an accreditation or a diploma when working as a Professional Make-up Artist?
No, but you will receive a Certificate of Attendance with modules covered, on full completion of the chosen MMC Course.
Having knowledge and confidence through Professional Training and hands on experience, alongside an attractive Portfolio of work, is paramount. Working in a Professional environment within the Make-up Industry, you must have the skill set and creativity to think on your feet and the personality and confidence to work alone or within a Team of Creatives, under time pressure. Skills, experience and a good reputation will open doors, and recommendation through your reputation as a respected Artist, is what will further your career. Students are encouraged to have 100% attendance.
How will each course day run?
Monday to Friday, 10am-5pm – The day opens with an informal lecture and practical demonstration from Lorraine, taking you through all application techniques and looks for the day, as per the syllabus (Syllabus on request)
There will then be a couple of hours for you to practically achieve the desired look on your Model/Student under Lorraine’s guidance and supervision.
During the lunch break, you will rest and reflect on the day’s art. There is an onsite canteen and bar, where food and drink can be purchased. Further practicals will continue in the afternoon session. There will be a short de brief and Trend Projects set, before “it’s a wrap” for the day.
Do I need to provide my own Make-up kit?
Lorraine will guide you through building a professional kit as the course runs, with her experience of the finest Make-up products on the market, that work!
It would be advisable however, to have a basic kit to work with and your own set of professional brushes. You will be briefed on what you will need before the course starts, so you can come prepared.
There will be a professional kit available for you to work with during the course.
On the 12 day Fashion Course, what would the full day Professional Photo-shoot consist of?
The full day Professional Photo Shoot at the end of the 12 day Course, gives Artists the opportunity to start a Professional Portfolio of work. Lorraine will guide her Graduates through pre-shoot preparation, designing and using mood boards, working to a brief, choosing a model and creating the look in a local Professional Studio, with a Fashion/Beauty Photographer. Hair styling will be provided along with full editing (post production) and ownership of the images.
How do I launch my Make-up business, post training?
Lorraine will give you guidance and mentor you throughout the course, to help you launch your career in whichever side of the business you decide to move into.
